Richards Bay Minerals

Richards Bay Minerals is one of the largest standalone mining operations in South Africa and one of the largest producers of Titanium Slag in the world. The empowerment transaction concluded in 2010 transferred a 24% interest in Richards Bay Minerals to an empowerment vehicle Blue Horison Investments.

Matasis was selected as the co-lead BEE partner in the consortium. The transaction is one of KZN’s largest (R4.5bn) broad-based BEE transactions to date.

Manne Dipico serves as a board member of Richards Bay Minerals, as well as a number of board subcommittees. Matasis role includes liaising with various stakeholders, including communities.
